Overview

Product overview

The five-shaft cross lapper is a high-speed web-forming unit dedicated to spunlace, and equally suited to needle-punch, thermal-bond and chemical-bond nonwovens. Its five-shaft build and PLC control allow fast, accurate laying at high throughput.

It pairs an anti-static carbon curtain with high-performance driving rollers, a high-speed batt-feeder, a PLC-interface control system and a stable auto-adjust edge system that keeps the web edges even. The unit takes an input curtain of 2900mm or 3400mm and delivers an output curtain of 3500~7500mm, at a working speed of ≤90m/min and power of 26~71kw.

Q & A

Frequently asked questions

How does this five-shaft cross lapper differ from the standard Type II unit?

It is dedicated to spunlace technology, uses a PLC-interface control system, and runs faster than the Type II unit — up to 90 m/min versus 60 m/min.

What are the input and output curtain widths?

Input curtain width comes in two sizes, 2900mm or 3400mm, with output curtain width from 3500~7500mm depending on configuration.

Is this machine's power draw high compared with other lappers?

Power draw is 26~71 kW, notably higher than the Type II cross lapper's 6.7~15.9 kW, reflecting its higher working speed and load.

Can this machine be used on a needle-punch-only line, not just spunlace?

Yes — although purpose-built for spunlace, it also suits needle-punch, thermal-bond and chemical-bond nonwoven lines.
