Overview

Product overview

The composite fibre (ES & sea-island) production line is a line used to produce bi-component fibre — fibre that combines two or more non-mixed polymers across the same cross-section.

Bi-component fibre comes in several cross-section structures — side-by-side, sheath-core and sea-island — yielding composite fibres such as ES and sea-island. Composite fibre is mainly used for artificial/PU leather, microfiber wipers and high-density fabrics, alongside yarn, wool fabric, silk textiles and the medical and sanitary fields. The line's signature product is sea-island microfiber: Nylon and Co-PET polymers are spun together, then after alkaline treatment the Co-PET ("sea") dissolves and releases 37 fine-denier Nylon filaments (the "islands"), giving a suede-like soft surface with excellent absorbency and wiping performance. Line capacity is flexible, from 3,000 to 15,000 T/Y depending on the scale of investment.

Vina Nonwoven is the authorized Yongxing representative in Vietnam: we advise on line configuration for the composite fibre you are targeting, with local installation, commissioning, maintenance and warranty.

Q & A

Frequently asked questions

What type of fibre does this ES & sea-island composite line produce?

This line produces bi-component (ES and sea-island) fibre — side-by-side, sheath-core and sea-island structures — used mainly for PU leather, yarn, wool fabric, silk textile, and the medical and sanitary fields.

What is the production capacity of this line?

Capacity ranges from 3,000 to 15,000 T/Y depending on the line configuration.

How does the ultra-fine sea-island fibre work?

Sea-island fibre is a Nylon/Co-PET bi-component polymer; after alkaline treatment the Co-PET component dissolves away, leaving 37 fine-denier Nylon filaments that give a suede-like soft touch and excellent wiping performance.

What products is fibre from this line used to make?

Composite and sea-island fibre from this line is mainly used for artificial/PU leather, microfiber wipers and high-density fabrics.
