A stitching plate is the steel guiding assembly of a needle loom, made up of a bed plate below and a stripper plate above the fiber web, which guide the needles and hold the material during punching.

Together these plates govern how flat and how even the needlepunched fabric comes out, whether it ends up as geotextile, automotive lining felt or carpet. The needles pass continuously through the drilled holes, so the perforated area gets a dedicated surface treatment that keeps fiber transport smooth; the plates are made of heat-treated quality steel, and for special applications there are coating processes or stainless-steel executions that extend service life. Holes worn open or packed with fiber deflect the needles, break them and mark the fabric.
