Product overview

A needle beam is the moving structural part of a needle loom that holds and clamps the needle board, driving the whole needle assembly up and down through the fiber web.

Every metre of needlepunched fabric, from geotextile to automotive lining felt, is formed to the rhythm of that beam. Because it carries the weight and inertia of the needle board on every stroke, its rigidity and clamping quality set the machine speed, the evenness of the punch density and needle life. Beams are built in welded or extruded execution, with mechanical or pneumatic needle-board clamping; the pneumatic version makes board changes faster and less physical, cutting downtime. A worn beam or a clamp that no longer holds lets the board shift, throws the needles out of line and puts density faults into the fabric.
