A cleaning board is a maintenance tool for the needle loom, fitted with either pins or HSS drill bits, used to clear the holes in the stitching plate across the full working width.
In nonwoven production, leftover fiber and dust gradually close those drilled holes, mainly on pre-needle looms where the web is still open and sheds loose fiber. Blocked holes leave the needles no clear path: breakage rises, the stitching plate picks up scoring and unwanted damage, and defects start to show on the finished fabric.
